A few years ago, I would have thought a house church would be the worst thing ever for me! I was very much a loner and didn’t particularly enjoy the company of others, and I didn’t want people in my house. I’ve undergone quite a transformation over the past few years in many areas, and these are two of them. Now, I would very much enjoy a house church setting. I agree that intimacy and hospitality, which would have turned me away a few years ago, are certainly advantages. I also agree with your concern about a house church maybe not being extremely welcoming to new people and possibly becoming self-focused.
