Assignment

Personal Action Plan

Completion requirements
Make a submission

Given all the insights you have gained from this course, create a personal action plan to implement your learning.

Instructions

  1. Begin by reflecting on your current style of leading. Honestly evaluate where you excel and where you need to improve by embodying Christ-centered principles in your leadership. Do you show any of the traits of an insecure leader? Identify any tendencies you might have to shift blame rather than take responsibility.
  2. Craft a personal vision statement that describes your ideal leadership style rooted in Christ-centered values and based on confident security. This statement should be no longer than three sentences and should serve as a guiding beacon for your leadership journey.
  3. From the material provided and your introspection, identify at least three key areas you want to develop or transform in your leadership approach. Some examples might include:
    • Enhancing your ability to have difficult conversations.
    • Building skills to listen actively and compassionately.
    • Growing in humility and reducing personal insecurities.
  4. Now, for each key area you've identified, develop specific, actionable steps you can take to make improvements. For instance, if you have recognized a need to improve in having difficult conversations, an action step might be: “Engage in a leadership workshop focused on communication skills."”
  5. Decide on a system or method by which you will be held accountable for the changes you aim to implement. This could be through mentorship, regular self-evaluations, or feedback from your team members. Set up periodic check-ins (e.g., monthly or quarterly) where you assess your progress, using feedback to make necessary adjustments to your action plan.
  6. Detail how you'll integrate spiritual practices into your daily routine to strengthen your relationship with Christ and bolster your leadership abilities. This can include:
    • Daily scripture reading focused on Christ’s leadership style.
    • Regular prayer time seeking guidance in leadership challenges.
    • Attending leadership retreats that center on Christ-centered leadership.
  7. Conclude your action plan with a reflective statement that summarizes your commitment to embracing Christ at the center of your leadership, the importance of taking responsibility, and the value of nurturing an environment that encourages open dialogue and understanding.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Your Personal Action Plan should be between 5-8 pages. (Personal Action Plan Template)
  • Use a clear and organized format, with headings for each section.
  • Be specific in your action steps and try to make them measurable where possible.
  • Once complete, submit your plan in a digital format to the platform.

Evaluation Criteria

If you are pursuing a badge or credentialing of some sort, your action plan will be assessed based on:

  • Depth of introspection and self-awareness.
  • Clarity and inspiration in the vision statement.
  • Practicality and specificity of the action steps.
  • Integration of Christ-centered principles throughout the plan.
  • Creativity and insight in the scenario applications.

Remember, the aim is personal growth and spiritual development in your leadership style. Your authenticity, vulnerability, and commitment to change are paramount.
