Completion requirements

This exercise is meant to help you conduct an audit of your team's skills and talents, identifying areas of strength, gaps, and potential opportunities for new roles or responsibilities. As per the Lesson 1 practice, this activity will contribute to your Course Capstone assignment.

Instructions

  1. Gathering Team Information (30 minutes):
    • Compile a list of your current team members.
    • If possible, include their current roles, responsibilities, and any known skills or talents.
  2. Conducting the Audit (45 minutes):
    • Using the provided audit template, assess each team member's skills and talents.
    • Identify areas where your team excels and where there are gaps or needs for development.
  3. Identifying Potential Roles/Responsibilities (30 minutes):
    • Based on the audit findings, brainstorm potential new roles or responsibilities that could address the identified gaps.
    • Consider how these roles align with your church's current needs and future direction.
  4. Planning for Development (15 minutes):
    • Outline a brief plan for how you might develop these skills within your team.
    • Consider training, mentorship, or recruitment as potential strategies.
  5. Reflection (15 minutes):
    • Reflect on how conducting this audit has influenced your understanding of your team's dynamics and capabilities.
    • Consider how this information could be used to enhance your team's effectiveness and align with the church's mission.

Submission

    1. Complete the Skills and Talent Audit using the provided template.
    2. Submit the completed audit along with your reflection as part of your course activities.
