For this practice activity, you will write a reflection on your current organizational culture and develop an action plan to improve competence, character, and chemistry within your team.

This activity is designed to help you create a reflective and actionable plan focusing on nurturing and developing your team in alignment with your church's culture and values. Additionally, it will be useful as part of your Course Capstone assignment. Keep a copy to compile with your other lesson creations.

Instructions

  1. Reflection (30 minutes):
    1. Reflect on the current organizational culture of your church. Consider aspects such as team dynamics, communication styles, and shared values.
    2. Use the provided reflection template to jot down your thoughts on the strengths and areas for improvement in your church's culture.
  2. Identifying Areas for Development (30 minutes):
    1. Based on your reflection, identify key areas where your team could improve in terms of competence, character, and chemistry.
    2. Consider factors like team skills, ethical behavior, and interpersonal relationships.
  3. Developing an Action Plan (60 minutes):
    1. Utilize the action plan template to outline specific strategies and steps to enhance the identified areas.
    2. Include actionable goals, timelines, and who on your team will be responsible for each action item.
  4. Aligning with Church Values (15 minutes):
    1. Ensure that your action plan aligns with the core values and mission of your church.
    2. Make any necessary adjustments to reflect this alignment.
  5. Reflection on Impact (15 minutes):
    1. Conclude by reflecting on how the implementation of this plan could positively impact your team and church community.

Submission

  1. Compile your reflections and action plan into a single document.
  2. Submit this document as part of your course activities
