Gaining self-awareness by reflecting on a past challenging conversation and identifying what made it difficult. In this exercise you will also share your expectations for how this course can assist you in navigating similar challenges in the future.

Instructions

  1. Identify a Past Conversation: Think about a conversation you've had in the past that you found challenging. This could be a conversation with a family member, colleague, or anyone else where you felt the stakes were high, or the topic was emotionally charged.

  2. Write a Reflection: In a document, write a reflection that addresses the following points:
    1. Describe the conversation and what specifically made it challenging for you.
    2. Was it the emotional involvement, the stakes, or the depth of the topic that made it difficult?
    3. How did you handle the conversation? Were you satisfied with the outcome?

  3. Future Expectations: Conclude your reflection by considering how this course could help you navigate similar challenging conversations in the future. What skills or insights are you hoping to gain?
