The goal of this assessment is to evaluate your understanding and application of the principles of crisis preparedness for churches, as discussed in this course. You will either assess your own church’s unique position in crisis management and create a potential presentation, or you will analyze one of two provided case studies and offer a crisis management plan based on that case.
Instructions
Option 1: Assessing Your Own Church
- Initial Assessment: Conduct a thorough assessment of your church’s current state of preparedness for various crisis scenarios.
- Planning & Strategies: Develop a crisis management plan that involves leadership structures, communication plans, and resource allocation.
- Presentation: Compile your findings and plans into a presentation format. This should be something you could conceivably present to your church leadership.
Option 2: Case Study Analysis
- Select a Case: Choose one of the two provided case studies.
- St. John's Community Church: The Eye of the Storm
- Maple Grove Fellowship: Navigating Social Issues in a Divided Town
- Analyze the Case: Evaluate the church’s preparedness level, identify strengths and weaknesses, and consider the unique challenges and opportunities presented in the case.
Crisis Management Plan: Create a crisis management plan tailored to the case you selected. - Presentation: Compile your analysis and plans into a presentation format.
NOTE: Learners have creative license for details not explicitly mentioned in the selected case study. Any assumptions or additions should be clearly stated.
For both options, your presentation/report should include the following:
