Assignment

Walking with Jesus Christ

Completion requirements

Notice that Matthew records Jesus walking often. Based strictly upon the accounts in the Gospel, it is estimated that Jesus walked at least 3,000 miles or more during the three years of his earthly ministry. The total number of miles he walked in his lifetime is probably exceeded 21,000 miles if you estimate from the time of His birth to His death.

It's said that Jesus walked an average of 20-25 miles per day during his ministry.

Instructions

For this activity, we're going to construct a visual timeline of key events in Christ's life. Follow the directions below.

  • Review the 12 Disciples document to learn more about those who walked most closely with Jesus.
  • Identify at least 20 key events in Christ's life. These events may vary depending on the personal significance of different moments in your own life. Minimally, the following events should be included: Christ's birth, death, and resurrection.
  • Develop a visual representation of these events. Your representation should:
    • Include a title for each event (popular reference or your own title), supporting scripture(s), and a brief statement supporting your inclusion of the event.
    • Be organized chronologically (forwards or backwards) and/or thematically (Miracles, Teachings, Relationships, etc.)
    • Depict at least 20 significant events in the life of Christ
    • Be accessible by your instructor. You are welcome to develop a video, infographic, PowerPoint presentation, website, interactive timeline, or other digital/visual representation. Ultimately, your instructor needs to be able to view the presentation. If you are not uploading your work to the Campus Learning platform, be sure they have access to the URL where the work lives without having to download any special software/applications.
  • Submit your timeline by the end of Module 3.
