Read Chapter 10 of True^North. There are many useful ideas that will assist you to teach this material to your disciple-in-the-making. Make certain you have not merely read the chapter on Application but have acquired its primary trajectory and how it functions as the climax of our True^North journey. This is where the Word moves from mere information about Jesus and the Church to transformational truths that will change us to look just like Him.

Read Chapter 4 of Brief Guide to Biblical Interpretation. Dr. Schenck is talking about Application. He simply uses a few different terms to say the same thing.

Let’s start our discussion of Application with a simple verbal analogy. Take a moment and ponder the difference between looking “at something” and looking “along something.” The work you just finished with Interpretation is the process of looking “at something.” It's the step by step analysis of historical investigation as you answer the questions you raised during your Observational work. But now we discover ourselves in this final phase of True^North; Application. This is where your eyesight moves from focusing upon the details of Interpretation to now look along the path of Application. It's recalibrating our attention from “looking at” the facts about Jesus to now “looking along” the trail of salvation history He has made available to all people right down to today.

If you want a wise voice on this subject, just read the brief article written by C. S. Lewis called, “Meditation in a Tool Shed.” He just may cause you to see things differently. Or maybe you would like to hear this essay read by a man with a British accent. If you are an oral learner, this is for you

This might end up being a nice tool to provide to your disciple-in-the-making to distinguish between the historical work of Interpretation (looking at something) and the spiritual formational work of Application (looking along something). Plus, this will be a subtle disciple-making gift as you introduce them to the world of C. S. Lewis.

Now, in a 500 word post, define the concept of Application employed by the chapters in True^North, Brief Guide and C. S. Lewis. Summarize the concepts in a manner that will serve your disciple-in-the-making. Demonstrate to me that you grasp what is required as a disciple-maker in this final leg of the True^North journey. Now, submit the work.
