Part 2 of the module is for you to lean into teaching this to your disciple-in-the-making. This will require not just "how to fill out a form" but to sound convincing and persuasive that this is a tectonic shift in the way the Bible is encountered. It’s no longer a "devotional document" but one in which we can encounter the mind of Christ housed in the biblical text. This is a great opportunity to carefully distinguish the difference between a "First Reading of Scripture'' and a "Second Reading of Scripture" (from chapter 2 of True^North). In this module, and all forthcoming work, we are encountering the world of “Second Reading.”
In the end, teaching others is the goal of the class. Not just for you to acquire skills. Once again, you are to create handouts or PowerPoints to accomplish this outcome. Of course, you will have access to my handouts and PowerPoints as models. I will be asking you to "own" the True^North material for yourself and to actually schedule time with your Disciple-in-the-making to teach him/her the “why” of reading entire books of the Bible. Then, please teach them “how” this will be accomplished. (Remember, this lesson does not need to include the literary structures as I have introduced them to you. That will be in Module 4. I wanted to show them to you first, so they will not be a surprise in the next Module.)
Please upload your Disciple-making documents using the Add submission option below.
Following this exercise, during Module 4, be sure to post in the Campfire discussion board.
