Course Capstone Acitivity

In this final project for the course, take all the learning you have done and 1) write a brief “theology of the disabled.” It doesn’t have to go into great depth. Simply indicate what biblical values have to say about all people in the church. You might incorporate 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 as affirmations that all the members of the body of Christ contribute something. Express your thoughts on whether the church should aim to include all individuals and minister to all individuals.

In the second part of the project, create a plan for including any disabled individuals who might come to your church. Cover all the different types of disabled individuals from Lesson 1. What is your plan if a physically disabled or auditorily disabled individual comes to your church? What about a cognitively impaired individual? What about someone who is sensorily impaired? Your plan might include an assessment phase and an implementation phase, for example.
