Assignment

Reflect, Repair, Rejoice

Completion requirements

In this Lesson, Dr. Lennox provides a helpful rubric for what God’s image should look like for humanity in its key relationships with him, with each other, with ourselves, and with the creation. He also powerfully shows how sin has broken these relationships and, thus, the image of God in humanity.

Take a few days to reflect both on the traces of brokenness that sin has left and continues to leave on your life.

  • How have been and are your relationships with others affected?
  • How is your relationship with yourself impacted?
  • What are the struggles and temptations that you have faced in these areas? How was your relationship with God affected by sin, especially before you came to Christ?
  • If you have not yet entered a conscious relationship with Christ, why not consider it today?
  • How has your relationship with the creation been affected?
  • Are there physical challenges you have faced or perhaps continue to face?

Explore these questions under the four headings of:

  1. God
  2. Others
  3. Self
  4. Creation

Explore them with hope! For every instance of brokenness, indicate the hope that is in Christ Jesus! Testify to your reconciliation with God or seek it now! Testify to how God has healed or can heal broken relationships in your life. How is God teaching you his love for you as a person while helping you to have a proper estimation of who you are in Christ–highly valued yet surrendered. How might you become a better steward of God’s creation? Do you look forward to the redemption of your body (Rom. 8:18-21)?

Submit your reflections below.
