In this final project, you will design a personal discipleship plan that not only furthers your own spiritual growth but reaches out to others as well. You should incorporate into your plan concepts like “popping up your tent” and discipleship “in the wild,” as well as some of the suggestions for the use of technology in discipleship and evangelism.

“Local” Discipleship

Reflect on your daily routines. Are there particular moments that recur so regularly that you can turn them into regular opportunities for connecting with God? Also, plan for spontaneity. Have Jesus so much on your mind that you are ready at a moment’s notice to pitch your tent with God in the wild, wherever you might be.

What are some digital tools that you can use to aid your journey? What are some Bible apps you might use for spontaneous (or regular)reading and study? Is there a prayer app you are drawn toward? Are there any podcasts or sermons you want to put on your bucket list? Plan how you will incorporate these tools into your daily life, possibly even setting reminders or specific times for their use.

Try not to make it all about you. How will you include others in your strategy? Make sure that you are reaching out to others, “disciples making disciples,” at the same time that you are walking with God as an individual. Evaluate this dimension of your spiritual time regularly.

Global Discipleship

Use Google Maps (or another tool) to identify a location outside your normal reach. Research a global issue or specific location that God has placed on your heart. Create a “virtual prayer walk” for this place. Outline specific points of interest where you can focus your prayers. You might schedule regular times for these virtual prayer sessions, and record insights or promptings from the Holy Spirit. But make sure this location features in your spontaneous prayers, too.

Think of creative ways to share your virtual prayer walk with others. This might involve social media posts, a prayer group meeting, or a blog post that guides others through your prayer journey. You might create a group on social media or at church dedicated to intercession for this place.

Write up your reflections and plan and submit it to the platform using the option below.
