  • Lesson 4: Nimble Feet

In this lesson, we will discuss the relationship between being highly innovative while being firmly planted in tradition. There is a focus on finding very practical and effective ways of bringing the scriptural truth to contemporary audiences. This means that we need to be vigilant in recognizing where God is moving in our time and creative in how to motivate people to move with/toward Him. In these turbulent times, the church needs Wesleyans!

This lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Think in innovative ways about evangelism (field preaching) and disciple-making (small groups), and in all other areas of Christian mission
    2. Recognize the importance of being firmly planted in tradition, but not traditionalism.
    3. Realize, and be encouraged by, the fact that Wesleyans have a history of innovation grounded in tradition.
    4. Be motivated to share the Wesleyan message of "a Warm Heart, a Firm Grip, an Open Mind, and Nimble Feet."
