  • Lesson 2: The Planning Process

A worship leader should plan. Every worship tradition has both fixed and variable elements. In the variable elements, a worship leader should work toward as much active engagement and participation in the worship as possible. A worship leader should also be mindful of long-term planning. This longer-term planning should include a mindfulness toward practices such as communion, receiving new members, and the Christian calendar.

This lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Plan for active engagement of the congregation in regular worship.
    2. Develop a practice of long-term planning in worship that incorporates key practices of the church, is oriented around a Christian view of time and space, and works toward a vision of who your congregation might be.
