  • Lesson 2: Missional Hermeneutics

With an understanding of missional ministry in hand, this lesson explores how Scripture informs that mission. We start by looking at the overall story of salvation as it is found in the Bible – a story in six Acts. The lesson ends with a look at the tensions that can arise while trying to carry out God’s mission to save the world. Dr. Hallett suggests that we give mission the trump card when different biblical understandings of the church come into tension.

This lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Read the Bible through a missional lens as the story of God’s mission to save the world.
    2. Prioritize the mission when reaching the lost and loving our neighbor comes into conflict with traditional church understandings.
