  • Lesson 3: Why did God take on a body?

This Lesson begins to explore the profound mystery of the incarnation. Why did God take on a human body? Why did the fully divine Son of God become man as the person of Jesus Christ? We dive into the complexity of the Divine Dilemma as presented by Athanasius of Alexandria. God keeps his word to Adam and Eve. He satisfies his own divine justice. And he fulfills his divine nature as love. We continue to explore the great significance of the human body with a view to Jesus’ incarnation. Jesus is both fully God and fully human. By assuming our flesh, he begins to unwind the consequences of the Fall.
