  • Lesson 1: The Compelling Why Factor

In this lesson, we discuss some of the factors that lead to successful and unsuccessful church leadership boards. We consider the common occurrence in poorly functioning boards: When agendas trump alignment. This happens when people advocate for particular ministries or initiatives rather than focusing on the common goal or direction of the church. We also consider 6 identifying factors which show if a church board is successful or unsuccessful. We discuss what it means to provide spiritual leadership in your local church. Linchpin leaders recognize that they need God’s wisdom if they are going to do the work of leading the church. What we want to see is God working to solve problems that we can’t fix through our own understanding.
