Though not produced from a distinctly Christian worldview, the information is valuable and can be applied biblically. Pay attention to the GRIEF acronym as steps for recovery from grief. Consider how you might, as a Christian counselor, assist someone else through a healthy recovery from grief. Start with yourself and consider where you are in your relationship with God, people, and any unresolved grief that you may be holding on to. Have you dealt with your grief? Have you dealt with past hurts or trauma that might be the cause of current anxiety or outbursts of anger?

Please watch the movie called "Land." Take it as a date night or use it as a small group activity. Watch the movie with your ministry partners or significant other or spouse. Then, discuss the things you observe in the movie. Talk together about the following things:

1. How does this illustrate and help you understand "Complicated Grief."
2. The person who found her and ended up befriending and helping her practiced some powerful techniques that we all should learn when working in grief support. Describe what you notice about his work. What did he do right? What did he avoid doing? What can you learn from this example?
