Introduction

We begin our exploration of holiness with a look at what God designed humanity to be and how the Fall of Adam and Eve has corrupted human nature as designed. We will see that God created humanity in his image and is thoroughly good. However, as a result of Adam’s sin, we find our ability to think, desire, relate to others, and especially to do good thoroughly corrupted. This is our new default state. Our default human nature is now “totally depraved.”
