  • Module 4: Observation (Part 2)

This will be the second module introducing you to the art and the science of Observation. Remember, the simple definition of Observation: “What does the text say.” Please, do not try to push forward to Interpretation. For that is addressing the question, “What did the text mean.” Remain in Observation for this Module.

    Outcomes

In this module, I long for you to develop the tools and vocabulary related to Observation Specifically, to discern the three (3) levels of Observation: (1) Discourse (2) Paragraph (3) Sentence. What are their similarities and what are their differences? Finally, the most important outcome is for you to practice your newly developed Observational skills on both Paragraph and sentence level work.
