  • Lesson 1: A Story in Progress

In this lesson, you embark on a journey into the world of the New Testament by looking at its “what” and “why.” You will learn the basic content of the New Testament: Gospels, Acts, Letters, and the Book of Revelation. You will be introduced to its basic historical and cultural contexts, as well as the main genres of literature in the New Testament. Most importantly, you will appreciate the fundamental “why” of New Testament study: to encounter Jesus Christ and be transformed.

This lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Describe the structure and content of the New Testament, as well as its basic genres.
    2. Explain the basic Jewish and Greco-Roman contexts of the New Testament.
    3. Express the “why” behind studying the Bible, namely, to encounter Jesus Christ and be transformed.
